Carb or Electrical?
Carb or Electrical?
OK, so I had my car running fine (Slight miss, but still definetely driveable), then I swapped rear-ends and bleed the brakes all around.
Now, when I start the car it starts up, but when the choke kicks off, the car idles down to about 500, sputters, dies.
Now, I can drive the car, but when I'm at a set of lights it does the same thing, sputters around 500RPMs, then dies. (I end up holding the gas a bit to 750RPM while holding the brake).
Now it's the the point where I put it in park on my driveway (After a 30 minute drive), go inside the garage (To open the garage door) and by the time I get out it is dead.
It looks like it's getting fuel (When I look into the carb I see two streams that aren't jerky/sporadic). But it still misses, and will die on me in gear all the time.
I took a long shot, maybe moisture in the cap from sitting all winter, so I took it off and sprayed it out with compressed air but it still didn't make a difference. I don't here any hissing (vacuum leaks) either.
And I know not much about carb's - and the guy who did my carb work is gone until at least tomorrow night in another province (And I did have plans for tomorrow afternoon).
Any ideas? It's an 87 305, non-CC quadrajet. And the quadrajet was just rebuilt last summer, ran perfect.

Yes, when the choke comes off it dies.
I figured maybe the choke is coming off too soon, so I'll drive it around for a bit (15-20 minutes, should be more than enough time I figure). Bring it to a set of lights, it stalls. Park it in my driveway after the drive, go to open my garage door (I didn't have the opener on me), and it has stalled by the time I get out.
I'm really at a loss for ideas - probably because I'm not the most knowledgable when it comes to carbs, so I'm not sure if this could be a carb problem.
