Knock Sensor kills top end ?

I just replaced a knock sensor and now the engine pretty much falls flat at 5500 rpms. It used to go strong to 6000rpms.

Anyone know if a K/S could cause this ?

Sure. If it's hearing knock (or THINKS it's hearing knock) then the ECM will quickly pull the spark back and power will go in the crapper.

Possible causes are REAL knock or other engine noises transmitted through the block that the ECM interprets as knock. A loose engine bracket or exhaust hitting against something can drive a knock sensor crazy.

Did you torque it down to the factory specs. the tigher you put the more sensitive it gets.
