How much do you want to spend and what type of power. I say go ***** out and put a ZZ 502/502 in there and have a blast. But that is my opinion and you may not have the money. Other wise throw a Scoggin Dickey 350 in there and read Chevy High Performance's build up on it and turn out over 400 hp with a few bolt on's.

I want to mod the engine (duh) but I only wanna spend 2500 to 3000 for the crate. Cause I still got the T56 to get.

ZZ4 would probably be a good choice.

it depends, if you live in an area where emissions is not a concern drop a big block in there. if you can find one at a reasonable price.

i bought my 454 with 50k miles with a TH400 automatic for $800. i plan on spending another $1200 for things like, new rings, bearing, gaskets, camshaft and lifters, new valve springs, torker intake, headers and exhaust, shift kit, and a torque converter.

you can do this on a budget and still end up with 450+ horsepower and 500+lbs of torque easily.
