weird stalling problem--please help

Ok, lately my car has started acting really weird. For a long time it has stuttered while cruising at just under 2000 rpm. It only did this at just under 2000, but not anywhere else. It is almost like it wanted to stallout, but it would just stutter. Now in the past couple of weeks it has started to just shut off when accelerating. It does not stutter or anything it just shuts right off and then it will usually start right back up and be fine. I do not know if the two problems are related or not, nut It sucks and I have no idea what it is to only do it at certain times.

i also have the same problem and mine smells like gas at start up and when u accelerate hard. i think mine is due to the crappy edelbrock i have on it, its like under harder acceleration at about 1600 rpm it stall and kinda boggs. i put a post on here a while back and i was told a "scientific" reasoning for my warm hard starting and how i need a "heat sink" gasket so that may also be causeing the stalling. if you find out what it is then let me know. i would also like to know

Ring,

It's going to be tough without more information, but I'll take a guess that the shudder at low RPMs in cruise is due to a fuel delivery issue at low throttle angles (and in lockup). When ny injectors started to go south on me, I had similar symptoms at about 1,700-1,800 RPM cruise.

You can perform a power balance test of the injectors to get a rough idea, but the most certain method is to have teh injectors flow tested. The power balance revealed my two worst injectors, and the flow tests confirmed that. The test cost nothing but your time a a little equipment which you should already have.

Man, I hope not Vader, these injectors are only six months old, the are accels. They are #24s and I had a chip burned for me with the arap bin and injector constant set for #24s, do you think the chip could possibly be the problem?

Thanks
Tim

That's possible, but you won't be able to tell unless you start geting data from the ALDL regarding O² voltage and injector pulse widths. If the O² is at a low voltage (rich) and the pulse width doesn't trim back, you may have an inappropriate fuel map.

A sniffer would be able to tell whether it is running rich, but wouldn't necessarily identify the source or cause.

I was thinking along the lines of a sticking or leaking injector, but with only six months of service on them, that is less likely.
