Any way to make VATS enabled chip work with non-VATS ECM?

OK, since I can now safely assume that Bort62 has screwed me and a bunch of other thridgenners over, how can get the worthless VATS enabled chip he sent me to work with my VATS-less ECM?

The car in question is a 1988 IROC, none of which, as we all know, had VATS. However, even after being informed countless times by yours truly, Bort62 sent me 2 chips one after the other both with VATS enabled. When he did finally read my emails and checked the chip for VATS, he admitted his mistake and said he was sending me a new chip right away. Unfortunately, that was also about the same time he disappeared like a f*rt in the wind from the thirdgen world. So now I am $40 poorer, waiting for the right chip that will probably never arrive, and stuck with a junk chip that's of no use for me. A chip that is junk unless someone can help me figure out how to rig this wretched thing up so that it works and I can get on with life.

I know there are a lot of ECM wizards :hail: on these boards here, so help me guys. I really miss my car .

might want to throw this over to the electronics board..

with the right tools, you can reprogram a PROM chip to disable
vats

20 dollars to re-do his chip ? Man.. talk about screwing this guy over AGAIN!

I can do both his chips for free if he pays for shipping. My time (1 min for each chip tops) to take the VATS off is not worth 20 dollars that's for sure!

p.s. You need PROM burning equipment and software to remove VATS from a chip. No "tools" will do it. lol

I'd do it for free too if he were local or if I could just give it to the mail man.
I just hate going to the post office and waiting in line.

Actually, the burner and software are the "tools".

True... I guess having a UPS account and the ability to print labels at home has made it too easy for me. I just print it out, put it on a little box and either drop it off or have UPS pick it up for me.

*COUGH COUGH*

Like Zepher said, the software and burner are the tools.

Not trying to be an ***, just trying to help you clarify a little so you
don't make the horrible mistake of making a fool of yourself.
We all do it, and the worst part, we don't know when we do,
so it's best if thoese around us point this out.

(well some of us realize it...)
