How can you tell if you're getting enough fuel volume or not??

I have recently converted from TPI to carb. I have the stock in-tank TPI fuel pump (replaced new about 2 years ago), stock hard lines (3/8 supply, 5/16 return), -6 AN fuel line to go from the lines to a Mallory 3 port pressure regulator, -6 AN fuel line from the regulator to the double pumper carb. I can keep a constant 7 PSI, but how can I tell if I'm getting enough fuel volume or not? Thanks.

Well just how loud do you want it???

Does the car run OK? Did you set the floats so the fuel is right at the bottom of the sight plug(s) on the carb?

As long as those two things are OK, I don't see you having a problem.

About the ONLY time you should worry about "how much" fuel to give the engine is when you're using nitrous or a SC.

BTW, don't worry... with a Holley carb, you'll know when you're getting TOO MUCH fuel.

I have a very similar set-up using the in-tank pump and stock hard lines, and have plenty of volume. I never show lean on the top end and the air/fuel never went lean on my dyno pulls.

I'm going to assume that you still have the stock TPI electricals connected to the fuel pump.

Disconnect the fuel line at the carb. Put the end of the fuel line in a container.

Unplug the connector at the fuel pump relay and feed 12 volts to the pump directly.

One pint of fuel delivered within 30 seconds should be enough volume.

I hear that question a lot when I tell people I still run the stock (never been changed) TPI pump on my 92 Z to run my carb. I go 11s with my combo. I'd say if the volume supplied by the stock TPI pump is enough for me, it's enough for anything above 11s
