Went through huge water puddle
There was no way around it, I was on the freeway and under an underpass there was a huge amount of standing water. I had to go tthrough it. The water was so deep that my turn sigals were under water. After getting through it i pulled over, the engine was steaming naturally I also heard some metal clanging sounds, which im thinkinking may have been the U-bolts because they make noise when i put it into gear. Should I be worried about anything do you think? The pipes went under too I was lucky i didnt stall.

Check your oil immediatly. make sure it still looks liek oil, and not choclate milkshake looking stuff. Change immediatly if so.
Other than that.if it still does run at all..you're prolly ok.

Might wanna give your motor a good looking over. If the change in temp was too sudden, you may have cracked something, most likely a head, since they can be rather prone to heat damage. checkin' the oil is probably wise, if it's milky, you could have a serious problem.

Just checked the oil, its a dark brown. not very translucent. Theres alot of cap dried up from all of the steam too, but the oil issn't milky, so I guess i cought a break there.

Don't be too surprized if somewhere down the road your cat converter starts to rattle a bit. They aren't too fond of thermal shock. You should also consider taking a close look at the transmission oil, and more importantly the differential oil. The vent for the rear end is not very high, and you likely got water in the case (I'd almost bet on it). It's probably been over 15,000 miles since your last gear oil change anyway, so it's due.
Another consideration should be the drain holes around the lower edges of the body panels. Make sure they are clear and unobstructed. You might want to even spray some clear water up into the drains to make sure it flushes out cleanly.
In addition, you should remove the front rotors to clean and repack the wheel bearings if they were under water. After that, grease the entire front end and U-joints if they have fittings.
You might want to apply some silicone to parts of the wiring harness that may have been immersed, like the fan relays, etc., just to help displace any remaining water. CRC 5-56 works well for this.
Plan on getting a different oxygen sensor in the near future.
Finally, check the park brake cables and speedometer cable housing. Lube the brake cables and remove, clean, and lube the speedometer cable. While you're at the transmission, lube the shift linkage cable if you can get the bellows retracted enough to do so.
As long as the car is raised, you might want to inspect the floor pan bushings for signs of entrapped water. These holes are not meant to be sealed from lakes, rivers, and streams. Water in there will end up in your carpet padding and smelling like a Russian kitchen in no time.

this happened to me also, only it was under a train bridge, so i went 40 mph through it and cam out the other side with no waterpump (car got hot!) not alternator (belts were wet as hell) and no brakes. Cat has been fine, and no water got in the car, only prob i had was the damn alt fried a few months later. This was about 8 inches of water, althoguh i pretty much hydroplaned through most of it !!

Vader,
Thank you for all of your recomendations. I'll have to look into doing all of that stuff thurday or friday. I certainly cannot afford to have things to start going out on me, and who enjoys the smell of borcht stewing? I was worried about the diff and the trans. When i got through the water I met up with a guy on the side of the road with an RX-7 who stalled and he said he tought he got water in his trans, but since the hole on ours is on the top of the trans (right?) I'm pretty sure no water got up in there.
Another o2 sensor eh? damn I just replaced that a couple weks ago.
