Yep, you can take your ergonomically designed, space age, computer controlled, 4 door, cup holding map lighted split double wishbone split fold down retractable cargo covered moon roof piece of transportation and keep it. For I have felt the thunder. And I know the difference!"

Absolutely, positively, maybe.
About 50% of all small blocks I have ever worked with needed the slots elongated. On the others at least one of them interfered. Sometimes maybe only a little, sometimes so much that the whole assembly wouldn't even assemble, sometimes it would look OK but destroy pushrods by forcing the pushrod end to ride out of its seat in the rocker. It's strictly luck of the draw, the only way to know for sure is to check every one over its whole range of motion. No one particular casting or engine type seems to be more or less likely to fit them. I always get this done as part of head work whenever I have heads off, for obvious reasons. I've never actually bought a Louis tool so I could do it myself for some unknown reason.
