What spark plugs should I run?

A lot of people I know run NGK plugs.
Am I supposed to run the TR55 or the TR55VX (Platinum) on my LT1 with the mods in my sig.

What about on my bone stock 88 305 TPI Formula?
I am picking up some plugs tomorrow for both cars, just wanted to know which ones to get.

thanks.

Oh, and these are what the tips look like,

TR55

TR55VX Platinum

any other suggestions, bearing in mind that cost is a major factor.
$2.00/plug is the max I want to spend.

I may end up doing that for the 88. That is what I ran on my 86 when I had the TPI on it.

I like NGK alot. I would pick up some TR55s for the LT1 but you cant run TR55s in the older heads as the reach is too long. L98s use the NGK UR4 I would imagine the 305 is no different but you might want to check out www.ngk.com to be sure.

Ok, that is good to know. don't want to put plugs in there that are too long.

Call me crazy, or cheap, or both

I've run the plain jane AC Delco plugs on every GM I've ever owned without every having a spark plug related problem. And yes, I've tried Bosch, NGK, etc etc.

One MAJOR reason I like the AC Delco, they are about a $1.00 each. So when ever I'm under the hood doing something else, especially now with headers making plug changes alot faster, I will replace the plugs, even though most times they really don't need it....but it's less than $10......

HTH

I need to drive down from Richmond one day and check out the LT1 swaps you wrenched on...

I use AC Delco Rapidfire on my LG4. I like them a lot. I have had bad experiences with Champion.

I like NGK. They took a lot longer to foul out on my Honda with worn piston rings than the A/C Delcos and Champions did.

I also agree witht the others, if possible avoid the Champion plugs. I also looked at ngk.com and the UR4 is what you want to run in the 305.
