New SR 383 not firing - Cranked it over for over a minute -> Should I worry?

I had posted my specific problem (no fuel injector pulse) in the TPI area so I am posting here in regards to a different though related topic. The engine is not getting fuel so I tried several things to diagnose the problem. My worry is that I may have cranked it over a little more than I should have though the trials, as the last few times I did, the engine sounded horrible (noisy, grinding, ticking, etc). I had initially primed the oil pump and had it register up to about 45 psi on the guage before I attempted to start it. I must have cranked it over a good 10 times for a total of about a minute perhaps a tad more. My understanding is that the engine needs to get up to at least idle for any decent amount of lubrication. It is this reason that I am paranoid that I may have done some damage. What do you guys think? Should I worry about it?

Well if you built it yourself and put the cam and heads on, i would look at you rocker arms. Same thing happened to me and all it was, was the rocker arms were too tight and the engine was taking in too much fuel and the exhause valves were always open, so there for i had no compression. I would check that out first. You should start out with three threads showing and then adjust them from there.

Like ede said, don't worry about it.

Check to make sure the distributor isn't installed 180° out, by finding #1 compression. Remember, there are 2 instances of #1 TDC during a complete engine cycle, and only one of them is #1 firing; the other is the point where the exhaust stroke is ending and the intake stroke is beginning.

Once you've verified that you're sending spark to the correct cylinder, if it still doesn't start, try the valve adjustment thing: Back them all off 2 turns from wherever they are and try again.

A minute isn't enough to worry about... You should be fine. If you know what the prob is then cranking it for long periods of time shouldn't be ness. If you think you have to crank it over a lot more then remove the spark plugs to take the load off the new brgs untill you are ready to start it. Cam break in isn't an issue like it is with a non roller cam.

the whole time you are cranking the oil pump is turning. Lubrication should be happening while you are cranking. Like said before, the big concern would be a flat tappet cam, but it sounds like you have a roller.

Yes, it is a roller cam so I wasn't too worried about that as I was the rings and cylinder walls. For some reason the though of the pistons going up and down without enough lubrication makes me cringe especially after hearing how the whole engine sounded. I adjusted the valves before I dropped the motor in and I did a very thorough job of that as my buddy was helping out. I mainly need to figure out why the computer is not getting any ignition voltage and then I'll crank it over again.
I know its been "primed" alread but should I pull the distributor and prime the oil pump again to get some more lubrication? Or is that just wasting my time.
Thanks for everyone's help. Its tough not fret when you are dealing with a $5000 engine and something doesn't go as planned.
