Yeah my friends 84 firebird has one. It's terrible though why would you want to switch?

Its a road race car. The tilt col in the car is a bit loose and wiggles a bit. Its a bit unerving to have the wheel move in the middle of a turn.

Does anyone know if they are interchangeable?

Thanks!

i have a 85 camaro with one. if i understand your problem correctly you can take your column apart and tighten up 3 screws and it'll be good as new.

My 86 firebird and my 86 camaro both had/have a non-tilt column. BUT, a tilt column won't have any slop if it's in good shape, so you may want to consider fixing what you have. If you want a non-tilt column, I may have one for you. I've got a tilt column that I've been meaning to put into the 86, and if you want the solid column maybe I'll get around to doing the swap.

My '86 doesn't have tilt and the column is loose as hell. I have to take it apart and tighten it down. Don't believe that the tilt columns are the only ones that get loose, not true. I have a spare just incase mine won't tighten up, and it is not tilt either.

Axle/Gears: ones that turn.
Except for the windshield wiper switch being wired differently on the 82-83 models, they are interchangeable, AFAIK.
