350ci Chevy engine into '87 Mustang...

Has anyone put a Chev. small block & trans. into a Fox-body '79-92 Mustang?
I have the opportunity (350ci/450hp smalblock & a clean'87 Mustang) to do this swap, but not sure if it's too labor or $ intensive?
If done, what trans/rr-end/driveshaft combo was used?
Any info. would be helpful, I'm seriously considering this swap. That is if "serious" & "Ford" can be used in the same sentence......

Thanks, Joe.

not that much work at all.. is it a 5.0 stang? if so all you need is a set of chevy motor mounts, a drill, adaptor kit (around 200 bux from autozone) and a decal stating "built ford tuough with chevy stuff.." the adaptyor will bolt the motor up to the ford V8 tranny... the kit would be a lot cheaper than buying a known good gm tranny, and fabricating a way to mount it, then getting the driveshaft custom cut..

Why would you want to waste such a perfectly good engine with a f**d?

I think you might run into a problem with the oil pan and the k-member. The rear sump on a late ford isnt quite as large as the sump on a chevy, and it barely clears.
Why dont you just stick the engine in a thirdgen, im sure you could find one and it wouldnt require any silly modifications to get it to fit in.

BTW, custom cutting a driveshaft goes for about 90 bucks. Just had one done for a '34. Just for information's sake...
