cam/intake selection....

ok well its time to make my daily driver reasonable for its purpose.. im going to swap my intake, carb, and cam and savem for my nova after i get a good set of heads for it.. also i want to make the car somewhat street legal and capable of passing nj emissions with the proper tuning.. step one will be getting rid the the 4 inch cowl hood, highrise intake, radical cam, and overkill carb.. what would be a decent cam choice for this purpose? im looking for a nice balance of power/gas mileage... not good or great gas mileage.. just something around the 14-15 mpg range would be nice.. so with that in mind im lookin for a cam that would work well with a proformer intake and a 600 vs carb on a 355 with 10.1 compression and might possibly have the ability to pass a sniffer test on a dyno.. also i have a stock cam sitting around that i might just swap in for inspection purposes and then swap the new cam so that might not be a factor... i have access to an emissions dyno so i should be able to do all the testing/tuning nessicary before bringing it to the inspection station.. basically my goal is to make a mild proformance vehicle that looks stock and has a real inspection sticker on it and gets somewhat reasonable gas mileage so i can actually afford to drive it so the local law enforcement gets off my nuts...any ideas? anyone out there was a setup that works good? lookin for as many educated opinions as possible! (note: vehicle has no emissions equipment but will be equipped with a highflow cat before attempting to inspect)
