Cam Selection Help !!!!!!!! 305 Tbi

I am looking to put a cam in my 305 TBI. I have heard good things about a LT1 Cam. I am looking for good overall power but mostly in the low to mid range. Can anyone recommend a cam that can perform ? How many extra ponies are we talking on this upgrade ? Thanks
