Flooding
Flooding
A friend of mine has a 92 G20 Van,350TBI. I know it isn't a F-Body but wondering if someone could shed some light on this problem.
He is having a hard time starting this thing. Seems it is flooding only when it's cold. After it has been running, then shut off and restart it's ok. Anyone out there have a similar problem?
Also, do you know a site that he could join just for vans and trucks?
Any help would be appreciated,Thankx.........

F92,
A rich/flooding TBI can be caused by an erroneous CTS, MAT/IAT, or MAP sensor input to the ECM. An engine will also tend to flood before starting if the ignition system is not performing well, allowing fuel to build up during extended cranking before firing the plugs.
Sounds like a thorough inspection of the system is in order, with a TPS voltage check (you can't adjust a '92, just check it), IAC cleaning and air adjustment, PCV inspection, general vacuum hose and ignition service. While you're there, check the resistances of the CTS and MAT/IAT sensors at given temperatures and compare to the table:
