Need help Identifying a car-kind of long

Not sure if this belongs on this part of the board or not, sorry if it doesn't. I was coming home from work and seen this white Camaro in the left lane next to me. It looked like a RS, 96 body style. It said Camaro on the front fender, behind the wheels, but had dual oval exhaust tips, that looked stock. Not the square ones, like on the Z28's. The back of the ground effects kit was cut to fit the exhaust. Again looking like stock. No other markings on the car. At first he had his windows rolled down. When I got next to him he rolls them up, so I know he's wanting to race. So on the way home he gets in front of me, puts his hand out the window and motions for me to get next to him. Number one, we were in the wrong area of town to be racing in and 2nd, I'm not racing any car I can't Identify. So, can anyone tell me if this was a V6 or a Z28 or what?

Thanks again.

probably just an RS souped up... I would guess, since the ovalish exhaust pipes... unless they were extremely small, cause that would probably mean that they were stock, meanint a Z28 with some weird body work. I don't really know too much about the 96's but I think that its an RS with some body work and its probably been souped up... Race it! What do you have to lose? If you don't win, it just means more fun on the car anyways!

All 4th gen Z28's came with the Z28 badges on the front fenders and the rear bumper. All others(3.4L and 3.8L) either had Camaro on the fenders or nothing at all.RS options had RS badges on the front fenders and the rear bumper, plus a ground f/x package. These too were 6 cylinders.
As far as the tips, anyone can add dual exhaust tips to give it the Z28 look.Besides, stock tips on these gen Z28's are rectangular, not oval.
