Edelbrock Performer RPM
what will this intake do for my stock L69 4 bbl or should i get the Performer EPS intake? remember, everything is stock and i plan on keeping it stock other than exhaust until i get my 350.

Go with the eps since it's got the stock cam in it. I don't think the regular performer would do much since it's basically a stock replacement. The RPM's pulling range is a little high for a stock 305.

Performer RPMs often won't fit under the hood of a 3rd gen
And an ordinary Performer is much better than a stock intake, to the tune of about 20 hp.

I swapped out a stock Q-jet manifold for the RPM on my 350 with a 269HR cam. My et and mph didn't really change much at all. But it was a much hotter day when I ran with the RPM. But the 269HR cam runs to about 5600 rpm which is the limit on the regular performer, so I probably didn't need the RPM.
I'm not saying you won't see an increase in power. It just may not be really significant with a stock set up.

It might, if tested on a motor that already had all other restrictions to performance removed. In other words, real good-flowing heads, a nice cam, large-tube exhaust, maybe some more CID, etc.
I doubt it would add as much as 5 HP to an otherwise stock L69.

An RPM will fit under the stock hood. Might have to use a drop base element tho.
I have a holley street dominator intake (idle-7200rpm) and its taller than the RPM airgap my friend has.

I put on a eps, hooker headers, true 2 1.5 duals, and a 750 carb on a 85 305 truck engine. practically the same as a 305 in your car. Had no bottem end, but the midrange and top end was something to brag about. that is just my .02 cents
I bought an EPS and I dont like it. I like the performance of it because you do get like 10 horses on more just on the better designed flow paths, but I dont like that it is essentially the same intake as the US duty stokers. Consider this one-
Yes! It is a single plane and emmisions legit! WOW! Just personally I like single plane intakes alot more, because I think that they seem to be alot more Cam compatable; like a performer Rpm loves low duration cams and low rpm but unless you are running high carb cfm, it suffers from chokage on the pressure waves when you start going high Rpm or long strokes. O well, different post for that though.
But if you are considering getting an RPM then maybe that one is up your alley.
