Does any know of any 4 cylinder camaros?

While looking through my Haynes Repair Manual for thirdgen Camaros, I noticed that they have 4 cylinder Camaros. This actually came in handy when a cop was looking at the back of my car and asked me why I only had one tailpipe. Instead of telling him the other one fell off, I told him I had a 4 Cylinder. When he left, I peeled out in the other direction. Good thing he was a Ford driver!

Yeah they exist. Some people on this board have seen them.

Couldn't you have told the cop that you just have one pipe?

My bird was an original 4 cyl car, It was blown when I got it though. My vin # says 4cyl car so my insurance is dirt cheap.

I saw one in a junkyard once.. I had to do the double-look- "What is that?" I think they stopped production in early '85 ...

why would a cop be concerned as to how many tailpipes your car has?

most 6's had single tailpipes too, although to convert to the dual look was as simple as buging the dual outlet muffler and the pipe for the other side.. ive seen a few 4 popper camaros, and even drove one.. my buddy used to have one before it became the willing recipiant of a 4bbl 355

Theres this guy I know across the street form my work that has a MINT 83 Firebird IRON Duke with 23,000 Miles on it. he said when they said 4 banger in the ad in 83 he knew he had to get one. Said it would be a collectors item down the road.

When I was a freshman in HS (back in the mid 80s), a friend of mine had a 4 cylinder car. I can't say if it was a Camaro or Firebird... but I think it was a Camaro. The only thing I remember about it was it had NO power. I mean zero pickup. I think we spun the tires once and we were shocked.

Back when I was in high school(87)I had a 4cyl Camaro--had rear defrost, auto and A/C!
Never used the a/c because it was like someone threw out an anchor--would bog right down!! Car was fun as hell!! Had that car airborne many a time! I use to power brake it all the time!! Awesome 1 legger! This is when Eagle GT's were popular. Remember how sticky they were? Good thing I didn't have a v8-might not be here today!!
I remember when I got the best compliment--some stupid girl tried to insult me--she said nice 6 cyl! Little did she know!!
