MOTOR BLOW AFTER 300MILES????

I'm driving home normally, driving normally when suddenly the car sounds like its under HEAVY load, the tach starts going crazy and the engine sputters, lurches and coughs. I look at my oil pressure.. 0 PSI
i immediatly turn the engine off and roll to a stop on the side of the road. I check my oil with dipstick, its full of oil...
I try to start it again, but now it acts like its 180* off on the distributor, (fires, stumbles then quits. ocassionally backfiring out the carb.)
WTF WTF WTF
the engine has 500km on it since rebuild, i drove it like i was told, i just changed the oil, maybe my filter ****ed up???
what could have happened????
over heated? i never really checked the temp before i started walking home. the engine didnt feel hot at all though. oil looked clean on dipstick
but steam came out of the PCV when i took it off.
what the hell?????

Perhaps during the rebuild something happened with the oil pump. I understand some engine builders actually tack weld them so the pick-up does not drop off. If the engine was full of oil and no oil pressure, sounds like a pump problem to my untrained mind. Sorry to hear about your motor

Jer, did you get all the bits out yet? Anyway, have you checked to make sure the dist. isn't sitting too low. Sometimes on aftermarket intakes this will happen and you'll get the broken gear for all your troubles. Just a thought.

That kinda sucks since the dist. drive the oil pump. But then lucky for you the engine quit before it ran to long.
