Code 45, running rich

The air/fuel meter is through the roof and I get code 45 after a recent SLP cam and runner swap. I cannot for the life of me figure out why (87 TPI 305) it is running rich. The SLP cam is the most modest SLP cam in summit. I have tried TPS adjustments, new IAC, and different injectors. There doesn't "seem" to be a vaccum leak (but I'm not going to rule it out..it's the only thing left!) Fuel Pres is set at 46, timing is at 14. Can anyone offer any explanations or things to check? Desperate

Jarod, do you still have the 22lb injectors, or did you put the 19 pounders back in?

If so, does it run better/worse with the 19 pounders?

What kind of shape are the injectors in?
Maybe faulty injectors? Stuck open perhaps?

Man, your car is blowing my mind.

Im sure there is someone who knows what is going on.

GMTECH, Traxion, anyone?

19's are back in and still no luck. Set timing back to 6 deg, still no luck. Chemtooled the manifold etc to check for vaccum leaks.....still no luck. What in the world? Oxygen sensor is fairly new, injectos might be leaking?? but what's the liklihood of both sets leaking? Maybe 9th injector is screwed up? I know that's far-fetched but what else is left? Help tech gods!

Somebody has to have an idea of whats going on.
Lets see, car was running excellent before the cam and runner swap; What could have been changed during the runner/cam swap to cause an abnormally rich condition?

Is the code 45 the only code you are getting?

What about the mass air? ITs brand new isnt it?
Dude, If its not a vacuum leak I have no idea.
Hope someone can help.

I seem to remember a time about 2 AM on a sunday night when I started my car with the aldl a&b pins arc'd... The combination of my absent mindedness due to the time and the darkness can lead you to do dumb things. Think maybe ecm could have fried? It seems to be working fine and does read off codes still, etc.. Just a thought..a scary thought. -Jerod

How well did the injectors go in? SOmetimes they can get in a bind and tear the o-rings. Just a thought.

Also, I have heard cases in which the injectors are too far down into the intake which causes them to bind and be forced open part way... I have heard people remedy this by shimming the fuel rail up by placing washers in between the intake and fuel rails (where the fuel rails bolt down W/ 10mm bolts). Again, just another thought.

I also wouldnt rule out a faulty ECM although I dont think the ALDL being "arc'd" between the A&B terminals would have caused it. Hell, I dont know. Just anohter thought.
