headlight relay...
Anyone have a wiring diagram for an '89 GTA headlight relay?
I did a search and only found diagrams of earlier years. My lights wont go up or down, and I want to do some diagnostics.
Ok, update; the relay does apparently work. I can hear and see it click when I switch the lights on. On the 4 pin side, all wires (2 green, 2 gray) are seeing 12 volts in both the off and on positions. 3 of the 5 wires on the other side of the relay are seeing 12 volts in the off position. Dont remember which, and dont know about the off position. The motors both work properly off the battery, although the driver's side continues to run after the light is up. The **** never tightens in either direction.

I put voltage/ground to both sets of gray/green wires at the relay, while the relay was disconnected. Then I plugged in the headlights again and they worked ok. This was the case for both sides. It just doesnt work if I connect the relay. All 4 wires, green and gray, have voltage in both on and off positions. WTF?
I am probably going to go get a new relay, and see if it fixes the problem.

Well, if anyone cares, I seem to have found the cause of my headlight woes.
The two fusible links that are circled in yellow are blow. I think this could have something to do with my problem.
I am probably going to resolder the links, although I do not know any of the specs of these fuses. Also, anybody know what stops the headlight motors from running? When they hit the top, or bottom, what stops current from continuously being drawn by the motor? Is the cutoff in the motor, or the relay/module?
Its kinda fun replying constantly to my own posts.

ps - sorry for the big picture.

Is that out of that relay power box thing on the firewall?
See my headlight motors were recently rebuilt. The issue is sometimes my headlights will not go up when I hit the switch. They always come down on their own but only sometimes go up.

The "rebuilt" module worked ok last night, then didnt today. I went to the junkyard and picked up a module. I put it in and it doesnt work.
The lights pretty much go down when I plug in the module with the switch off. When I flip the switch, nothing. The relay doesnt switch at all. I can see it just staying in the same position. So, basically, I'm not too happy.
I think I need to rebuild at least one light, however, from what I understand, the motor would still try to spin the light. And it does nothing.
