From what I hear, they're still being produced at least in Mexico - like the old VW Type II (Beetle) was until just last week.

They killed them because GM is moving to the LS1 based engines.

02' is correct, the only thing it's used in now are some marine and industrial applications. possibly in gm's from other countries though. the gen III with good reason has replaced it.

But they still make the 305. They just don't put it in anything anymore.

Crate 305s are still made and sold (albeit ~$50 MORE than a 350 ).
