Need help deciding on induction system and cam.

What cam do you recommend for this setup?
This is what I'm working with so far-
91 Corvette L98 short-block 51k miles w/ARP 4 bolt studs (this is to hold me over while building my forged 396 short block)
Rollmaster billet timing set
Melling 10552 20% HV oil pump
Edelbrock Etec 200 heads-
ARP head bolts
Competition Products 98213 valvesprings (tit for tat with COMP 941's) and titanium retainers
4130 one pc. .080 pushrods
COMP 1.6 Pro-Magnum Self-Aligning Roller Rockers 1318-16 (I got them cheap so I can trade them for 1.52's if necessary)
T56 w/Pro 5.0
3.91 Borg Warner Rear
Hooker 1 3/4 Full Lengths (Will be using dual 3.0-2.5" w/x-pipe & dumps)
Will be using LS1 aluminum driveshaft when I can find one locally.
Car has T-Top's but they're lexan. I've also deleted all AC, all emissions, and the back seat. I'm gonna be running a 4th gen power rack and using a tublur crossmember and a-arms, so it should be around 3100-3300 lbs max.
Will be controlled by Gen 7 DFI or FAST system.
Induction will be most likely be a Holley single-plane MPFI Pro-Jection system w/30 lb injectors.
Now given the above recipe and considering my injection options what would you guys recommend for a cam?
COMP recommended these:
08-503-8 XR276HR 224/230 276/281 112* .510/.517 or .537/.544 w/1.6
Custom XR282HR 230/236 282/288 112* .517/.527 or .544/.555 w/1.6
I've also been thinking about this one:
08-433-8 XR288HR 236/242 288/294 112* .527/.547
or .555/.576 w/1.6
I'm not decided on the 112* or going with a 110* instead. Comp can make either, so what do you guys recommend? Why?
Again I have Comp 1.6 pro-mags but can go 1.52's if you feel it would go better with a certain cam and my combo.
My springs are good to .600 lift @ 1.8 installed height and as far as pressures and even material/construction go they're almost identical to COMP 941's plus I've got ti retainers to go with them.
Using a vacuum can is fine, I'm of the impression I can compensate for larger cams with DFI and, I have a 6 speed and gears, so that should help too. Car is a toy, not a daily driver...and will be street raced mainly and see a rare trip to 1.8th mile track. I do plan on using 75 and 150 shot of nitrous occasionally as well (after I figure out DFI and become comfortable with it).
Any other custom grinds that would work with my combo are okay too... I'm open to any ideas!
Sorry so long, but I want to be thorough.

I would use a Ramjet intake and throttle body
with a F.A. S. T. EFI system.
You'll kill two birds with one stone by using this after market
tunable system.
Probabily cheaper and doesn;t have to built in limitations of
adapting and reprograming a factory system.

Ther is also a Mercury Marine tunnel ram style EFI intake
that has loads of potential. Fits vortec style heads.
Of the Scorpion 377 motors.
looks like this
SOOOOO many choices now

Wow! I didn't know about the Mercury Marine intake.
Anybody know were the best place to get one is and what they cost?
So far, I've been leaning towards the Holley 9901-107 MPFI 4 barrel Vortec Intake and one of their 9900-171 4V 1000cfm throttle bodies and and 9900-172 Fuel Rail Kits. You can use delphi or bosch injectors with their stuff so I'll probably by SVO 30#'s.
Control wise I'm going to go with the DFI gen 7 or a FAST system if I can find one used for a good price.
Any cam recommendations on this?

Come on guys....let me hear your cam ideas.

Is that for just the lower or does it include the plenum also? The number I had was just for the lower manifold.
I've got 861085T for the fuel rails. That's sold individually, so I'd need 2 of them. I'd have to fabricate a crossover with some sort of adj. fuel press regulator. I'd have to fab an upper plenum with provisions to mount a throttle body. I figure the ls1 style throttle body would work the best. The question is, what kind of power band would I have when it's all said and done?

Ask Mercury Marine. They can answer your questions for sure.
I believe that is just for a bare manifold.
The 377 Black Scorpion Plenum top has a rear facing air intlet/throttle body on it. Not going to work on a 3rd gen.
Yes you will have to do some fabricating.
The marine engine that the manifold is installed on makes peak hp at about 5200 rpm. Thats with a real mild hydraulic roller cam.
Probabily not unlike the cam used in the GM 383hi-torque crate motor.
With the right camshaft you will have strong power from about 2500 to 6000+ rpm.
The basic manifold layout looks to have lots of streetable power potential.
At $1000 US for the manifold it won't be any cheaper than a
RamJet manifold or a Mini Ram III for vortecs.
But you'll have the only one. Well, until I can find one to work with.

If this deal I'm working out for the holley intake and throttle body doesn't pan out, I think this is the route I may go. I like the unique appeal to it, and nobody knows how it'll work until someone tries it. I could make a lid for it and then modify the front for a provisions for an ls1 throttle body. Or put a plenum divider in it and maybe use two seperate tb's like a viper. Hmmmm? That could make it easier to facilitate twin turbo's later on.

You also have to option of selling off the vortec style heads
and getting other conventional port style performance heads.
like Protopline or Darts etc.

I chose to go with the Holley MPFI route. I bought the bare intake and the throttle body from someone so now I just need to buy the fuel rail kit, some SVO 30#'s, and decide on whether I want to go with holley controls or accel DFI.
The guy I bought the intake and TB from says he really likes the holley system, and he's used dfi 6.32 before. He said he's heard alot of bad things about the gen 7 dfi, so I don't know. I've some smokin' deals on used dfi 6.32's and sallee chevrolet said they'll sell me a commander 950 for $600 brand new, so I don't know.
At least I got the induction nailed down today.
