hey,, i've been lookin in jegs at there products and theres this power package from edelbrock... with a new cam, lifters, and manifold.... for however much ,, and the manifold is bolt up to throttle body... i don't have enough to step up to carbaurator yet... but should i even get the package deal... or should i leave the manifold out and just go order a cam ,,, cause if i get the package deal its just this one kinda cam... but if i say **** the package and order a cam to whatever i want. then... well just wanted to know what way i should go and what would be a good cam for me to buy and what kinda power increase i'm lookin at...... i have a 305 TBI just to let ya know my specs... thxx.. peace

 

what would work best for one type of fuel delivery system may not be the best for another. if you wanting to do this only untill you can convert to carb i'd continue to save my money and wait, unless you're willing to maybe have to replace some of the parts you're going to buy now.

 

Yup.. ede is right... a cam that would make a carb'd motor run like a beast, would probably drive an EFI setup like TPI bonkers.

 

the power packages come with flat tappet cams, not what you want since you have a roller block. If you decide to stick with the efi alot of guys have had good success with the lt1 cams and some have even used the lt4/zz4 cams in their cars with the tbi although youll need to do some tuning with the ecm if you use on of those.
