LT4 valve springs on L98 heads

LT4 valve springs on L98 heads

i know they fit the Aluminum vette heads but will they fit the Iron Fbody heads?

I don't have an L98 head to measure the pocket, but I do have a 12551483 valve spring, and the O.D. of the spring is 1.342".

They would not fit my LT1 iron heads without machining. On aluminum heads, it is probably a good idea to machine anyway so that you can use steel spring washers in the seats to protect the heads from being worn away by the spring motion.

Axle/Gears: 8.5" G-BODY G-80 3.73
What Vader said is absolutely correct, I used these with my Aluminum L-98 heads along with the matched shims, plus extra shims to get the correct installed height. The valve guides had to be machined for the teflon seals and the extra lift also.
