oil pan

while out looking at my car trying to find out whats wrong with it, see my other thread about codes 14 & 45, i noticed my ooil pan looks dented, like one big dent 4 inches in diameter not some little roan gravel ding but big. can any one show me a photo of a stock oil pan for comparison or tell me about what kind of problems a dented oil pan could cause if any

thanks guys

if the dent is deep enough, it could have hit the oil pump, none the less, a dent can greatly interupt the oil flow and make the pump work harder.

Taking you have a OEM 5 quart oil pan, go to summit n buy a oil pan.

It steel and its like 24 bucks. Get it, primer it, and paint it whatever color but be sure to primer it.

your back in business.

the oil pump pick up should be between 1/4 and 3/8 off the bottom of the pan. if the dent isn't that deep i'd suspect you have no problem. most oil pans are dented to some extent like you described.
