Car stumbling badly. Need help!
A few weeks ago I did a head swap on my carbed 350. Nothing major just taking my good set of my off so i can port them out. It ran smooth for a few days and then all the sudden one morning i start my car and it's missing at idle. Well i figure its spark. So i go to autozone and get all new cap, rotor, plugs and wires. Well on the way its surging and stumbling so bad its like riding in a plane thats wrecking! Well i replace all of the stuff i got from autozone, it gets alittle better. Well i check the fuel pressure its steady at 5.5. I check for vacume leaks and there were none. I adjust the valves to half a turn past zero lash. I made sure all of my header bolts were tight. Adjusted my edelbrock carb and set the timing at 12 btdc with no luck! It is still the same except that when i'm at WOT it smooths out quite a bit. I've tried just about everything i know and i can't seem to get this to stop! Can anyone throw in some ideas? Thanks in advance.
all the wires good? tried taking temp readings on the header tubes after you fire it up? carb adjusted right? personally i wouldn't use an edlebrock carb, i beleive holley or demon are much better

thanks ede,
yes all new wires, adjusted carb just replaced the ignition module. I'm trying to get a demon carb but buying a house so first is first! But yeah, edelbrock carbs suck. Just curious but do u think that the choke messing up would cause this? Also i just noticed a few minutes ago that there is a clicking sound coming from the #8 cylinder. I re-adjusted the valves but no luck. It seems that the clicking sound goes away if i advance the timing more. I took it on a road test and it still stumbles heavily but you can only hear the clicking sound after like 2k rpm's! I'm seriously lost here. If only i won the lottory
thanks for the help! maybe i'll get lucky and just stumble across whats wrong.
