what is best way to check fusable link
i still have a no crank problem with my 85 z28 after engine swap and it did crank after new starter. now all is dead. almost all is dead power windows ect.
seems like a link must of gone south but all the links test fine with a fluke meter set for continuity. 2 links at starter and one at battery. is there another i'm missing?
can the meter give me a false reading since it uses a real slight current to test?
thanks for the info...

Of the fusible links off the starter terminal, one supplies power to those items you can operate without the key being turned....headlights, brake lights, dome light, and horn. The other powers those which need the key turned...stereo, turn signals, starter, backup lights, wipers and fan motor.
If none of one side or the other work, it's a pretty safe bet that link has been fried. If only some items don't work, it might be in the switch itself, down on the column.
