actually, on the camaro it just BEARLY clears the stock hood.
and since the inducion is on the front, you just need to find a rubber boot..... then you can connect the stock camaro air intake to the larger throttle body..
hot rod or car craft or one of thoes magazines did a artical on it a lil while back... i think they even put in the MPG too... i'll see if i can find it. if somone already has a link though, post it

THere is one difference in the HP rating on the ramjet engine and other factory installed engines isn't it? The ram jet is 350 flywheel hp, and the LS1 is 320 rear wheel hp? Anyway, this and the wieight difference meight be more than noticable... Strange that the ram jet didn't even come with a 4 bolt block, not many other strong parts in there for more power down the road either.. I think I'll sleep on it for a while.

Funny how things progress...
One day ya hit the lottery and want the biggest engine you can have...
Next day you're looking for a fuel friendly setup...
Oh how things change.
Leave it as is.
Use the before mentioned advice and invest wisley.
In 10 years, assuming the investments were sound, you can then build your car as you wish, without concern.

I think I saw an ad in a magazine for ~480 CID small block. For some reason, it was an LT1.
and I think I recall seeing on Horsepower TV they were advertising a 1000CID boat motor that would bolt up to your BBC trans.
Build a "Junkyard Jewel" 300-400 hp small block for ~$1000-$2000 and call it a day. Maybe look into Vortec heads or those pro action lightnings. Good for the money.

I'm thinking a twin turbo 396 with the lightest/strongest internals you can get... Crank, connecting rods, 4 bolt main block...all of it. That displacement will give ya some nice low end grunt and the turbos will keep it whizzing along up top. Go sequential.... Get some 30 lb/hr injectors and a custom-tuned computer setup. Go with some high flowing aluminum cylinder heads with larger valves, stiffer valvesprings, swirl-polished chambers, and a valve job.... and maybe see if ya can't get a custom lower and upper intake from Lingenfelter Performance Engineering... Custom-grind high-lift, low-overlap cam.... Slam a built 6 speed behind that...or do what LPE did with their twin turbo 427 vette and throw a BUILT 4 speed 4L60E automatic behind it with a stall converter...
OR you can just order an LPE engine/car. But they're muchos grande expensive!
Well...those are MY dreams anyways.

Your gas tank would be measured in metric tons not gallons.
Just beware....if the car stumbles for a second, your turbine has just sucked up a car. If the car stumbles for a second, then misfires and sharply accelerates for a split second....then you've just sucked up a nitroused Civic.

I went to the dragstrip today, and there where this guy running this awsum twin turbo'd trans am at 9.85! I think he had in mind going for the silver state challenge with it...
What was most cool though, was after everything was finished, they jacked up the car, swapped out the slicks for street tires, and drove home! I think they pumped out the race gas, and pourd in some 92 octane too, to save some money, but it was still very cool. It was very noisy there today, but I think he won the "fastest street car in Norway" with it.
