Need some advice...
I recently found a set of used vortec heads selling for 350$ locally. They are in good shape but heres my question. Should I spend 350$ + 220$ for the heads + vortec style intake manifold or save up alittle more and just get a set of world sportsman II heads.
I know the sportman II's are a true performance head, also can take a lot of lift without any extra modifications. My intake manifold is made for 87+ heads but I can drill the center holes out to make it fit.
So should I spend $520 for the vortecs used or go ahead and spend an extra $280 for a set of sportsman II heads.
My future plans aren't crazy but I would like to see ~350 RWHP out of my car. I figure the sportman II's would be a better choice for that goal than a set of stock GM heads...
I think I may go ahead and install the lt4 camshaft I bought with my stock heads. If I decide to wait on the heads I could also have some money to get my rear suspension done...which needs to be done BAD.

I dunno, I'd never just bolt on a used set of heads, without at least taking them in and having them checked out....once you do that and maybe have something done to them, you're near the price of a new set of Vortecs, maybe even exceeding the price of new.
Just something to consider.

I think I'll wait and get the World Sportman II heads. They are more of a performance head. Plus im sure they would have more potential.
