Another starting problem
Sup guys. I've been having this little problem latley where the Iroc just doesn't want to start. It sometimes does but sometimes doesn't. Sometimes the starter will click sometimes it won't do anything and sometimes it will start right up. I replaced the starter and it still does the same thing. But i ddin't want to change the battery, because the lights are as bright as they should be and my radio work just fine with the subs and all. But im just confused now if anyone could help me out just drop a line. I'll be back later to answer and questions im goin to surf hurricane isable's waves.
Make sure that none of the wires going to the selenoid are grounded in the wrong place or shorting out. Also make sure that the wires are no freyed or broken. I had a problem with mine that the wires were backing off the posts on the selenoid.

Sounds like a ground. Check the ground strap (block to firewall), then check the ground from the battery (negative post) to the engine.

You wanna hear something freaky??? I accidentally checked the length of you're message.... and it came up as '666'. What a way for me to hit the clubs tonight, now I'm freaked out!!!

New Jersey clubs are 'scattered' all over.... whereas in New York, there like only block's from each other, making it easier to go from club-to-club. I'm sure Philly clubs are like that too, from block to block, right?

Also.... before I forget, don't drive the car until you find the location of the cause. Because if you drive her in the rain, and the wrong part get's wet, you'll fry the alternator. That happened to me when I left my battery connections loose.

Wanted to add....
Check the fusible link down by the starter. These links are notorious for going bad, and your's might actually be in the 'midst' of blowing out.
So don't forget to give it a once over....

hmm ignition switch
had a simular problem with a monte i had turned out to be ignition switch, next time it acts up try moving your tilt wheel se if it makes diffrence if it does it is the ign switch on top of column, even if it doesn't help it could still cause an intermitten problem.

Fusible link's are used rather than a fuse in wiring circuits that are not normally fused (eg; Ignition Circuit). The links are four gauges smaller than the cable it protects, and is usually marked on the insulation with the gauge size... because the insulation makes it appear heavier than it really is.
You can't miss it, it'll look like a black rubber foam (about 1 1/2 to 2 inches in length) coated over (and uniting) some of the wires leading to the starter.
Also.... Jeff brings up a good point, as if the car has tilt steering, it may be a defective ignition switch.
