Air compressor swap and stalling troubles?

Ok I recently changed my air compressor, smog pump, and tensioner pulley due to bad bearings. The only thing I forgot to reinstall was the smog pump gasket. I did not hook up the electrical connectors for the compressor since with no freon that would likely destroy it. Tonight my car stalled 3 times while driving although it seemed to be fighting the stall (although unsuccessfully) The oil pressure and tach would drop steadily and then finally give out. I have no idea why this is happening - could bad valve seals cause it? Usually when my car stalls it will start instantly and run fine. However tonight it continued to have problems with startup and I had to let it rest awhile while I ate at McDonalds. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for advice!

bad valce seals won't cause this problem. i think the ac compressor is tied into the ecm. sorry i don't know any more than that but it's a place to start. try pluging that harness back in and see if it fixes the problem. recharge the ac if you're worried about messing it up, you'll have to sonner or later any way.

If the belt is overtightened and the clutches on the compressor are seized, it can put additional load on your motor and cause it to stall. Remove the belt and try turning the compressor pulley by hand. (with the car NOT running obviously).
