Car died 3 times going down the track! WHY?

Car died 3 times going down the track! WHY?
Basically its an RS with a carbed 406 and 91 CC ignition. Ran fine for a long time then recently went south.
To try and give you as much info as I can and not double up ideas I started a thread here

Have you ever dropped the tank?
You might want to see if there's some junk in the bottom of the tank getting sucked over the sock on the pickup or if the sock is collapsing.
