Camaro 1988 350TPI running RICH Problem.

Hi.
A friend of mine got a Camaro 1988 with 350 TPI (MAF).
The car is running way to rich, everything on the car is stock parts.
The exhausts is black and it even smells gasoline from it.
Idle is quite high.

We have checked "on fuel pressure" (41-47 psi) and replaced basic igntion parts such as the cap and rotor.
When we runned the car with a scanner, the BLM's went down to
like 107 or something. The car runs rich in both warm and cold enginge condition. We have also checked for air leaks at the
MAF and intake plenum with started gas.

Any suggestions? All tip's are welcome!

What does the scanner say about O² voltage? Have you tried a new O² sensor just for comparison?

Nope. But we had that in mind.

When starting the engine cold, the car is in open loop and should
not care about the o2? Or am i wrong?

Could be worth a shot, but just wanna make sure before
going out fetching new parts.

Have you checked for leakage through the control diaphragm of the FPR?

may also be a good idea to pressure test the injectors to make sure they aren't leaking. Does the pressure gauge show pressure holding when the engine's off or does it slowly drop?

It drops slowly.
We checked that when we tested the on fuel pressure.

roughly how ling does it take to " bleed" off the pressure with the car off ?

And I heard this once from a guy who had the thick black smoke comeing out the back .......... his was an ignition module inside the distributor .

The pressure drops like within 30 minutes or so. So i belive the
injectors are fine.

The car is not throwing any codes.
