Guys with TES headers take a look please
How did you install the oil dipstick tube ?? I cant get mine for the life of me, and there isnt enough room between the header tube and the valve cover to go trough there. I have it off to the side underneath the header tubes, but now the dipstick wont go in all the way even if I force it. How did you guys put it in ? Pics would help a lot if you have any. Thanx

Since I dont have my car here to look I believe it goes through the headers not along the valvecover and attach it with the supplied dipstick holder. BTW your going to have to bend it in a few directions to get it right in. Tom K. Had a perfect pic of the dipstick. Thats how I learned to do mine.

All you would need was a steel zip tie. it was just really a clamp that went around the header and held a loop thing fo rhte tube.

you have to swear a lot and scream at everyone around. It is a bitch and a half, if you stick to it you will figure it out. the dipstick will never work smoothly though, Ive done it twice. It neve gets easier. Just keep bending and tweaking and youll get it

I got mine used and didn't get a dipstick holder either. I put the dipstick back in, but since the little bracket doesn't line up with the header bolt, it's not held in place. So basically you can move the dipstick back and forth some, and it reads a quart too high, but it doesn't leak. It's pretty close to the bottom on my eternally long list of things to fix.

I had the same problem with my dipstick. I had to go to the part store and get a new one and man. It seems like I spent more time trying to work that damn dipstick in the oil pan than I did on the headers. That is something isn't it?

Mine is held in place to the header tube with a plain old steel hose clamp. No leaks, and the arrangement is stable enough so it reads accurately.

mine is on the outside of the header. i grinded of the bracket on it. It may give slightly inacurate oil readings but i had bent it out a little. also i had to hammer it to get it in all the way.

i did mine a little like this; broke the old one off cuz it was pissing me off, i think the replacement was like 8 bucks, well worth it. did some twisting and turning and about 3 flesh wounds and a half hour later it went in and gives me fairly accurate readings. i dont remember off hand how exactly it went in (between headers and what not?) and its too cold to go check. if you must know i can take a look tomarrow or sumthin.

Thanx for all the input guys. Tonite I'll try to re-route it somehow, because my dipstick wont even go in the tub anymore. I'll see what I can do. :/ Nobody has a pic though ? It would help a lot as a starting point at least.

It's not the greatist pic ,, but I got mine it w/o too much hassle between the long tube from the front cyl & the air tubes. It only took a little coaxing with a nylon hammer to get it all the way in. Hope that kinda helps
