i just drove an 88 Gta with the 5.7 and it was doggy as can be. no torque, could barely spin the tires, just no get up and go in general. the odd thing is that it wasnt throwing any codes, engine wasnt making any odd sounds. and the car only has 54k on it. the price is good on this car and id like to buy it but something is definetly up. i know this isnt alot of info but anyone have suggestions?

There are several things that can cause poor performance without setting and error code. Retarded timing, weak ignition, poor lubrication, hanging brakes, low fuel pressure, generally poor maintenance. What gearing doe the car have? Are you certain it's a 350? Many GTAs came with a 305 also.
