Idiot ECM can't handle winter
Idiot ECM can't handle winter
Every winter, since I bought my 1985 Camaro w/305 and auto, it will idle fast even when the engine is warmed up. No codes, the temp sensors are O.K. (I think). The resistance of the temp sensor goes down as the coolant temp goes up but what resistance should I see at 190'-200'?
The TPS is O.K. the choke is open and the linkages move freely, but the ECM-controlled throttle actuator won't let the throttle come down to a normal idle. I have a 192' thermostat but it still idles fast. Only when spring comes around and the temps get above 70', then it will idle nice and slow.
Any ideas?

Exactly the same problem with my 85 IROC manuel. Along with jrr, I'd appreciate some suggestions.
