Need help with my cam!!!
Can someone shed some light on the cam i have in my 455 pontiac i have no clue about cams can somone tell me about it and also how to understand all the numbers i look at my cam card and am completly lost. Will this give a good sound at idle with flowmasters?
Also will this cam do good with a Torker 2 intake and 750 Speed Deamon Carb?
its made by Ed Iskenderian the cam card reads
Grind Number 256 HYD Super Cam
Intake Timing ------------------------ Exhaust Timing
Open 22 BTDC ---------------------- Open 66 Before BDC
Close 54 After BDC ----------------- Close 10 After TDC
Cam Lift .281 ------------------------- Cam Lift .281
Valve Lift .425-------------------------Valve Lift .425
Intake After ------------------------Exhaust
Open 5 TDC----------------------- Open 39 Before BDC
Close 27 After BDC---------------- Close 17 Before TDC
The above Timing is Checked at .007 Lifter Rise

This is a reletively mild street cam in a pontiac motor.
It's basicly a stock replacement cam.
It will have a smooth idle. The power band is from idle to 4800rpm.
Not the best choice for horsepower with a Torker II pontiac intake.
For that you'd want a little bigger cam.
Like and Isky 280 MEGA CAM. You can find the specs for your cam and other ISKY cams at www.iskycams.com

Port and Polished 7m5 heads
Trw Forged Pistons Bored 30 over New rods Stock crank.
Torker 2 Intake

You can get a good idea of how much horsepower you're making by running your car down the drag strip and getting a et time slip.
The MPH at the end of the quarter mile indicates your horsepower.
I'd say about 350/ 360 gross flywheel HP.
