old lifters with new cam?

hi,

i would like to know, if i can reuse my old lifters with a new camshaft? and how much hp/rpm is the max with the stock lifters, if there is any limit

engine is a 91 L03.

Flat lifters you can't reuse, but rollers i think you can.

yes, theyre rollers. i dont now, if i can use the original ones with a new cam, intake, heads, header etc... or will they break or something?

you can re-use them, unless you gernaded your engine, and worry about possible metal filings in the oil. in which case i would replace. but it sounds like you are just doing a cam swap, in which case you will be fine.

@dewey: no. im changing the heads, intake, tbi, cam, rockers, headers, pulleys. so i dont know if the orignal lifters would be so good with this stuff?

If you have doubts, get a set of OEM lifters and put them in. Might as well change them now instead of later since the motor will be apart.

Roller motors you can re-use the lifters (as long as they're in good shape, not galled or anything). You can replace them if you really feel like it, but they're not exactly cheap. Flat tappet motors are a different story though, you never run old lifters.
