Engine timing?

What would be a good total timing to be shooting for in a 355 above 2000-2500 rpm? The 355 has a cam that is 230@.050, a vac secondary Q-junk, 9.4 to 1 compression, and a dual plane intake and headers. Auto trans (2500 stall) and 3:73 gears too. 26-28 degrees total? Or higher/lower? I am installing a new Comp 9000 Unilite distibutor that is a mechanical advance only, and I am wondering what I should be shooting for overall.

As much as you can get away with and still run on pump gas. Generally it's 34-36 or so, kind of depends on the motor...
