Fuel line popped!! Need a new one, HELP!
(87 IROC , 5.7 TPI)
Alright so I got this new fuel pump installed.. (holley, 255LPH in tank electric) and the car was running beautifully. Well after coming from the movies, my car wouldnt start and to make a long story short, the hose from either my sending line or my return line under hood basically popped off its connector. The hose is shot, I can't get another one anywhere on a sunday because evidently it is a high pressure hose. Summit laughed at me and told me to hit the dealer. Anyone have an alternative, perhaps even a braided line?

Just go to the dealer or junkyard. You don't want anything homemade unless you take you old fittings to a hydralic shop to get new hose professionally installed. They have the proper hydralic crimpers to do the job right.
Remember you're running up to 50psi through those lines and the pumps capable of more then that even...........

Those fittings and braided line will be stronger than the original 'unsafe' rubber hoses. You can get the original hose from GM but you'll be waiting months. Get one out of a junkyard and you'll be getting ...well, junk.

Lesson learned....
So I was able to pull that hose from my RS, put it on, and tested the fuel pressure. It seems that I was running at close to 100 PSI. We installed an AFPR prior to having this new pump put on, but couldn not adjust it at the time as we did not have fuel pressure at the time. Right now I am running at about 50. No wonder it exploded.

Like demon oddly enough. It only gave me **** on idle. One interesting note was starting the car. I could barely touch the ignition before it turned over. If I did any further, I would over crank it.
