Lt4 cam with 416 heads? can it work?
what needs to be done in order for my LO3 (305) to be able to handle the lt4 cam? What springs...RR's...retainers...locks...etc. Can I reuse my lifters and pushrods? Has anyone used this cam head combo before? Thanks for any help.
any time i got to a larger cam around or over .475 lift i like to install screw in studs and maybe cut the spring seats for larger springs. also a good time/idea to look at machining valve guide height. i also trash the stock springs, rotators, and retainers and go aftermarket. buy springs to match the cam and i would use gm springs, look at comp, lunati, or crane. personally lunati is all i've used in a very long time, just bought a new lunati cam, lifter, spring set a week or so ago for my current project engine.

Remember that a lt4 camshaft is .480 lift with 1.6 rockers. If your using stock rocker arms your lift won't be as high. I have a lt4 camshaft with my stock lo5 heads. I didn't change anything and its working fine. I plan on some modded vortechs someday.
