car stalls out every now and then
I have an 87 iroc with the 305 tpi. Lately it has started to stall out on me every now and then, it runs great and then it'll just die. Sometimes it will be idling and then get really rough and quit but it starts right back up when i turn the key. And other times ill just be driving along and it'll lose all power and sputter for a couple of seconds and usually kick right back in without doing anything. I changed the fuel filter yesterday and checked the fuel pressure and it is fine. I had the guys at autozone test the ignition coil for me and they said it was fine too. I told them that i got gas the other day at enmark and they said that a lot of people complain about getting water in there gas from there which i didn't know about. I put some treatment in the tank to take out the water and it doesn't seem to be helping very much. Could the water be the cause of it though? I was wondering too if it could be the throttle position sensor or possibly the idle air control valve. What do you guys think?

If you are just cruising down the road, and it sputters, misfires, etc, I would take a long hard look at the ignition module. (in the dist....) My car acted funny for about two days, it would buck, misfire, and then be fine for a while. Finally, it bucked, misfired, and quit...... I was done. Replace ignition module, and all is well in firebirdland again.......
