My mods are in my signature. I'm still using the orginal block and pistons from my LG4 that have about 100K miles on them. The heads are orginal too but have had a lot of work done to them. I've had a best 1/4 mile run of 13.4 at 101mph so far. So an LG4 can run decent times if you match your combination up well.

carb tuning (minor, will be switching to a g hanger and ah rods myself)

1 inch poly carb spacer- MUST DO - made a big difference for 30 bucks...

3 inch high flow cat and slp cat back to open pipes (yes it is loud and sets off more car alarms, but i LIkE it!!)

ignition advance to 8*-10*

(soon to come- fiberglass cowl hood, headers, new heads, possibly ported, and a cam and performaer intake, gears- 342 posi disc sittin in my garage)

My Webpage- Battle of the birds, My own Thirdgen Page, still under construction, http://www.geocities.com/soares711/index.htm

88 Firebird Formula- deseased 2/9/99- 305 TPI, SLP 3 inch exhaust, SLP Intake runners, SLP cam, 3.45 BW disc brake posi, WS6, NOS, and all that good stuff, 13.8 on the motor, 12.89 on NOS and slicks! Hit by what else!?!? a FORD EXPLORER!!!!!!

fb305svs, how did your carb spacer work out? have enough underhood clearance? ive yet to start work on my lg4 iroc, but once i do my first mods are gonna be a slightly bigger carb and spacer, but was worried about clearance..

aside from that mods to be done
head job, cam, performer intake, carb, cooler stat, catback kit, etc.. i dont know about headers yet.. possibly, yet doubtfully..

Getting rid of that stupid clutch fan made a difference off the line (Dual electric). Regular maintanence has been a big factor, but more in the fact that it's still running at 199,500 miles. Timing reset to about 10 degrees.

The best mod that I will be doing to it in the future, is replacing it with my 350 (basically a ZZ430).

That looks sweet in there GMTECH. Nice airbox!

Good luck with whatever you do!

The best mod for the slacking lg4 is to replace it with some more cubes like I did mine with a 383 stroker 330+hp 440+lbs-torque

I been needing to try on my FlameSuit on again it's been a while. Dual snorkel intake, headers, performer intake reworked Q-jet and gears should get you low 15's high 14's at around 90-93mph if your engine is in good shape. A performer cam would lower that by half a second at least and add 3-5mph trap speed. 204-214.

i used to have an LG4. I had a 14" K&N filter, Holley 650 carb, 1" spacer, edelbrock performer intake, plugs and wires, as well as a valve job, i also removed the A/C and the air pump, no cat. I'll tell you one thing though, the holley 650 had some great throttle response. it never bogged and always wanted to go. I reccomend the smaller carb actually. Just from personal experience.

If it breaks, it wasn't good enough anyway.
