where to put 02 sensor
IF i was to convert to EFI i need to know the best place to install a bung for the 02 sensor
i have long tube headers and true dual exhaust (no cats) with no crossover (X or H) pipe
would a heated 02 sensor be best?
thanx

A heated O2 would be the best to go with.
I suggest trying to put a bung in the DS header facing up, just before the collector. I have mine in the pipes just after the collector. I think you want to be as close as possible to the engine, but also in an area where you would get exhaust from all four cylinders, one bank of the engine. Just my 2 cents...

yes, it is very true to be as close as possible.....this way the sensor can light off
i just wanted to make sure that reading only 4 cylinders would be ok, cuz stock on these cars, the 02 sensor is after the y-pipe and before the cat
thanx

can honestly say i did not know that, when i had the V6 in my car the 02 sensor was after the y pipe right before the cat, thats where i drew my assumption that the V8's were the same
my mistake

You would do well for yourself to run a heated O2 sensor. When I put on my LTs with a one wire O2, it would not get hot enough to light off on its own!!

I don't know one off the top of my head, but if you search around here or the TPI board I am sure you can find it.
I used a sensor for a 94-96 Chevy Blazer IIRC...

The part #'s on this link are the ones I used. I think the sensor is for a 97 pickup. It is a Bosch, about $ 50 at Autozone. I paid $35 at the dealer for the harness, after I bought it I found some cheaper ones on the internet. I think they were less at gmpartsdirect and rockauto, I cant remember exactly, but I know I paid too much for my harness.

Actually, I did not use that sensor because of the price. The part # for the one I used is 13077. But , I think there is a 3 wire and a 4 wire with the same part # because I just looked on Autozone's website and there were 2 different prices, $48.99 and $67.99, I paid $48.99.
