3.1 Hydraulic Lifter for SB Conversion Info
3.1 Hydraulic Lifter for SB Conversion Info
I thought I would start a new thread for this. I have found a source for the 3.1 Hyd. roller lifter used to retrofit the non roller small blocks.
Good news, they're $10.50 each.
Bad news, I have to buy 8 sets (128) of them at a time to get that price.
Good news...if I could get 4-5 other people committed to a set ($168.00) I would go ahead and get a batch, and sell the rest on Ebay. I only need one set, so there would be seven sets for sale. Let me know if you're interested.
These are brand new Sealed Power units, and would require prepayment, and only actual shipping costs.
THanks,
Dave

Someone explain this to me please. What are they, shorter? longer? same as V8 roller lifters (no link bar) require dogbone but difference in length right? explain?

There's a discussion on that here & some pics
Basically, It's how to retrofit a pre 87 block with rollers without the expense of aftermarket retrofit roller lifters. It entails some grinding in the lifter valley for clearance of the lifter retainers, and some drilling and tapping to install the spider tray. Total disassembly required.
Some argue that it isn't proper but some guys are willing to try it.
Guys who've tried it say it's OK.

Duh!
I knew that........I am feeling really dumb now. Oh well, that's what happens when you get old.
OK, I have 7 extra 3.1 roller lifters and they will be for sale, and I have some links to people selling more. I am not interested in making a profit so just email me if your interested and I will hook you up with the seller(s). -Jim
