Turned on wipers and motor died any ideas?

Turned on wipers and motor died any ideas?
Its an 85 TA tpi and a friend started the car then turned on the wipers and the motor died.All fuses have been checked.What happens is the lights come on but dont come up.The car is getting juice throughout but it wont even turn over.What relays should I check?What about any inline fuses?Thanks for the help
