QUICKER ACCELERATION!!!!!!

Ok heres the deal. Last fall when i went racing to the closest strip i got burnt off the line. Now i only have a V6 Camaro with an Exhaust on it. But i mean Volkswagon's and even Honda's were takin me off the line like it was there job. I eventually caught up to them but what can i do to my car that will make it a lot quicker off the line so the EURO-TRASH doesn't get ahead to much. Tweakes with the engine that cost nothing would be best but anything you can think of will help

Mess with the ignition timing, i believe having it a little retarded over Stock is what gives you good acceleration.
Also, lighten up the car too, take seats out, trash, (spare?!) and other stuff that adds up.

How cares who is ahead when you leave...it is who crosses the finish line first that is important.

Retarding your iginition will only help IF your car is too far advanced. Generally the more advanced the ignition, the better.

Try launching at peak torque curve.
Works for me every time.

It's not much of a help, but check the air pressure in your rear tires. If they're filled to the max rating or, close, let a little air out. emphasis on little. The more rubber on the ground, the more traction you'll get. I don't know if traction is a problem, so it might not help at all. Hope it does. And, as i started with, It's not much of a help,... but every bit counts.

If your car is auto, try holding the brake and giving it a little gas before you launch to stall up the converter. I had an 84 firebird with the 2.8, and I could get imports off the line, but after the first 60 feet or so they'd pull ahead. You'll know you're doing it right if the car rises a little with the torque of the motor. If you're giving it too much gas, the tires will spin with the front brakes locked. Just try it a few time to get the hang of letting off the brake and giving it gas. Too much gas and you'll spin the tires off the line, too little and you're engine witll bog. Good luck.

Nitrous Oxide Injection my friend would be the most cost effective way to get V-8 power from a V-6. If you give your car a little whiff of that stuff it will keep the non-turboed rice rockets from leaving you in the dust.
