Need Cam advice
I have a 84' Z28 H.O. L69 with a 700R4 and 3.73 open diff. I am going to replace the cam, add some headers, high flow cat, flowmaster catback. My question is about what size cam should I get to give me a decent amount of performance but is still 50 state legal (I live in Cali.)
My current cam is stock and the size is:
Lift
Int. Exh.
.403 .415
Duration
Int. Exh.
.202 .206
Lobe
Separation
114.5
Rocker
Arm Ratio
(115/-114)

i would use the comp cams 12-404-4,its mild enough to pass emissions,224@.050,464 lift......has the sound of a stock cam but pulls way harder..

Look in my sig.
Plenty fast and just passed smog for the 3rd time. The whole setup would be legal in Calif. too!!

I'm a big fan of the Crane 2050 Compucam. Great power & driveability, runs clean (50-state emissions legal with a carb'd car), and with headers and new valve springs, it'll really wake up that engine.
Larger intake valves and some basic porting would also help a lot.
