roller pilot bearing

Going to replace my clutch and the guys at my local Chevy shop said to use it. Anyone ever use it, does it fit OK?

Some of these cars even came stock with the roller bearing instead of the bushing. Definitely the way to go.

92,

Don't forget to pack it with grease! (Long story, and pulling a toasted bearing is NOT fun.)

Yea, that and be nice to it

If you smash it up or get it in there crooked, it will take it out in short order.

I have one in my 69 and it works great. Like the other guys said, just make sure you press it in nice and straight. As far as greasing it goes, I used disc brake wheel bearing grease on mine when I put it in. It's nice and thick and lasts longer than standard wheel bearing grease. Don't go overboard on the grease though, or you'll end up slinging grease all over your brand new clutch disc. A light coating on the roller bearings should be plenty.

The one I bought from GM has grease in it. Should I add some to it. It looks like the bearings hasve a nice coat to it.

The amount of grease that comes on them isnt enough, I would put some more in the center of it after you install it, and that should be good then.
